We have incorporated our very own IRC chat channel. You will have two options to join the channel now. The first is the easiest. Go here to begin chatting.
The second is a bit more involved, however, it is a more permanent solution. Now for the low down on how to get a client that is easy to use, configure it to work with the IRC chat channel and how to register yourself with the IRC server.
Go get yourself a decent IRC client for your platform (Windows, Linux or Mac). I recommend Pidgin, because it is easy to setup and use, while having the ability to connect to every protocol (MSN, Yahoo, AOL, Jabber, IRC, etc) out there. It also is capable of running on Windows, Linux or Mac.
After you have downloaded and installed the client. we will need to configure your client to work with IRC. Go to the "Accounts" menu, then "Manage Accounts". Once you have done that, you will see "Add...", click that. Select your protocol now, in this case, "IRC".
An important part, you are going to pick a username. Be careful what you place here, as it is the username that will stick with you for your IRC life (until you decide to register another nickname!).
We are getting to the nitty gritty. In the server portion, put: irc.freenode.net Put in a password that you will remember, and tick the box that says "Remember Password"
That's it, for the configuration of connectin...
