Topic: Powerpoint 2003 cannot play video files
If you are having trouble playing .mpg or and video format for that fact, there are a few things this could be:
Codecs
File structure character length is greater than 128 characters long.
My case ended up being the string length causing the issue, copied the movie to a shorter path and it worked like a charm.
